The scope of work should be confirmed through a written quotation/proposal.
Mandatory Agreement Specifications
Every written agreement, Statement of Work (SOW), or proposal should specify:
Scope
Detailed breakdown of architecture and functional requirements
Deliverables
Explicit technical outputs, builds, repositories, and documentation
Timeline
Project milestones, sprints, and estimated completion schedules
Price
Commercial value, hourly or fixed-bid financial structure
Taxes
Applicable GST and statutory tax schedules clearly outlined
Payment milestones
Scheduled tranches (advance, demo, acceptance, handover)
Client responsibilities
Asset delivery, feedback turnaround, third-party credentials
Change requests
Formal process and rates for scope modifications
Intellectual property
IP transfer upon full payment completion
Hosting
Cloud infrastructure provisioning and hosting environments
Third-party costs
Separate responsibility for third-party APIs, plugins, and servers
Maintenance
Post-launch warranty and bug-fixing window
Support
SLA response times and ongoing maintenance coverage
Acceptance criteria
Objective sign-off testing protocols before final release
Out of Scope Work: Work outside the agreed scope may require a separate quotation and change order before development commences.
